Boxes Have Cracker Jack-esque Pack-in Scheme....J. Davis
In addition to my 1000 feet of green cable, I also received:One (1) Pair CrimpersOne Hundred (100) "Ice Cubes" (RJ-45 Ends)One (1) bag of strain relief boots in multiple colors.I've used this cable at work, and it does its job. I work in a datacenter, and I've used this stuff in lots of things that have been in use for over a year or more. So no real complaints. We're real picky about cable integrity and noise, and this stuff gets the job done.
NOT REAL CAT 6!!!TRENDZ-Scott Deley
This is NOT Cat 6 cable. This is Copper Clad ALUMINUM wire. We bought 2 rolls of this, and rented a hi-lift in order to install only to find we cant keep a signal to a POE IP camera with a cable more than 10' long.NOW WE HAVE TO RENT A $600 HIGH LIFT TO REPLACE THIS CRAP. I AM ASKING AMAZON TO REFUND THE COST. IT SHOULD NOT BE REPRESENTED AS CAT-6 CABLE!!!!
Everything you need with one issueWilliam D. Charschan
Needed to expand my network into the other room, has enough cable and supplies for the job. Be aware though that the crimping tool works but it is much easier to just purchase a block connector rather than try to crimp and get the connector working.
Cable is OK, Crimp tool is horribleZaid and Sheera
3 stars because the cable itself is decent for the price, not great quality but it is OK for a CAT6.The main issue is you can't use the crimp tool provided with this product so be prepared to buy a better one which is at least $18.The plugs are not supposed to be used with a CAT6, these are the one piece plugs which are rated for Cat5/5e not CAT6.Actually I was ready to return this product after making 5 cables that didn't work. Finally I looked at the rj45 plug and noticed that none of them was crimped correctly, I tried again to watch how this tool crimp and there was no way to make it crimp all 8 wires. Went and bought a Klein ratcheting crimp and it worked perfectly even with provided plugs.I am sure most people who gave this a good rating used their own crimp tool!
Not sure what's upScott D. Espenschied
Have made a few cables with this wire and every single one of them acts weird. As soon as we removed these cables from the equation our network at work went back to normal. Hard for me to believe the whole box is a box of bad cable, but something isn't right. Haven't had time to make more wires just to see if they are going to be wonky. Made about 5 already.. 3 of us each making cables. None of them worked as expected.
I wouldn't use it for PoE but I wired my house with it!ExplodingEvo
I have an older home and did 16 drops with this cable with a maximum approximate length of 30 meters. I say approximate as I measured by doing the whole end of arm to end of arm measurement and guesstimated about 90 feet then added 1 more full end of arm to end of arm so it may be more than 30 meters.I did full testing both with a tester and using the LAN speed test utility between 2 machines. Everything worked well. I'll have to see how it holds up, but as my network will be mostly used for my Plex server and some gaming, I don't expect to tax it much.An electrician friend of mine told me to not use it for PoE. So I would recommend the same.
Cheap crimperScott Bishop
The crimper worked for the first five or so jacks I put on. After that it is not getting all the terminals down. Not a bad price for the amount of wire though.
My first bulk Ethernet purchaseWilliam
Although I don't have any experience with many other bulk cables, I really like this one. I love how now I can cut wires to exact size, non more non less. I guess most of the things I love about this product are more aimed towards bulk cable in general and not specifically this Aurum cables product so I'll leave them out.ProsComes with cable ties, crimp connectors, stress relief boots, and a crimper!! (or at least mine did)ConsNon noticed so far, I guess the fact that my particular box has the wire coming out of the bottom as apposed to the image from the post where it it leading out of the top... I'll survive.
