Description
Flat cables fit easily between cramped spaces improving the look of your home or office because they are flat and easy to hide. These flat cables are a perfect fit under carpets, up walls, and even behind furniture. The cables are only a slim 1.2mm thick that gives a plenty of ventilation room for network rack wiring. It is a great advantage over fat cables that add more bulk to your work space. Great portable cables. Not ideal for non-portable applications.Azzy
These cables are great for their purpose. They coil very well, and when neatly coiled up, will take up a fraction of the space that a normal CAT5/6 cable of the same length would. They work fine with gigabit ethernet, and i'd say they're a must-have item if you currently carry an old-style network cable in your laptop bag. This portability is not without it's costs, though. The flat cable only bends well along one axis, so it's a bit more awkward to use. It also has less "cushioning" than normal CAT5. I don't think it's suitable for stationary installations, largely for these reasons. They're also more expensive (particularly compared to making your own network cables - which is a great way to save money, reduce cable-clutter by making cables no longer than they need to be, and lose your sanity crimping connectors for hours on end).

If you want a cable where it will be unobtrusive, this is it. Truly flat, low volume, very flexible, full performance. completely satisfied.
Just Right!H. Winters
The flat cable is easy to run and tape down without a large bump. I will use this type from now on.
Just Way Easier to Work WithDave
I love these cables. I had a massive Cat 5 cable that was not giving me anymore that 100baseT speeds. Once I upgraded the cables through the house all of my speeds increased. Finally Gigabit is working like a charm. I recommend picking up one or two to try. They are SO easy to run :-).
Tangled Ethernet cords are a thing of the past!Perry M. Rogers
This cable is SO much better than the regular rounded CAT6 cables. It is extremely small when rolled up and lays flat no matter what. Regular cable will spread out on its own, but this really stays in a nice and neat pile even if your ethernet port is 2 inches from your computer. I will only be buying the flat type of CAT6 cable from now on because it is so much easier to use and carry with you. Tangled ethernet cords are a thing of the past.
