Monoprice Cat5e and Cat6 cables are made of 100% bare copper wire, as opposed to copper clad aluminum (CCA) wire, and are therefore fully compliant with UL Code 444 and National Electrical Code TIA-568-C.2 fire and safety standards, which require pure bare copper wire in Cat5e and Cat6 communications cables. I'm nearly halfway through my first box, and every cable has given me a reliable gigabit connection, even a couple runs where I thought shielding might be required.The plastic tangle-guard had come apart during shipping, but once I opened the box and put it back together it's worked very well. Just be sure to keep the box upright (as shown in the photo) and pull slowly. Good cable. Works well for what it is expected to do. The only reason I gave it a four is because of the way the box was packaged. I am talking about the actual cable box, not the shipping box. The box's "neck" where the cord comes out of the box was broken and not able to be put back. However, that is easy to work around.
